The Opera Red River Valley

The Opera Red River Valley was adapted from the movie of the same name directed by Feng Xiaoning. With the background as the invasion of Tibet by a British troop in the early 20th century, it’s a heroic epic about the love for the nation and the country. The playwrights were Chen Wei and Qian Xiaotian; The composers was Meng Weidong and the director was Chen Wei. It was created by China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, and first performed at Beijing Poly Theater on August 24, 2011. It won the 14th Wenhua Award in 2013.
