CNODDT’s Artists Present Performances in New Zealand and Australia

Artists of China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater (CNODDT) performed large original dance drama Confucius and I Only Care About You--Concert to Reappear Teresa Teng's Classic Songs in scenic New Zealand and sunny Australia in November, in order to unfold the unique Chinese artistic charm to people all over the world.

At the opening ceremony of 2014 Australia-China Cultural Festival, which coincided with G20 Summit, CNODDT’s dancers expressed Confucius’ life history, humanistic thoughts, spirits and wisdom with magnificent and heavy music rhythms, gorgeous and classical costumes, strong visual shock, grand stage settings and aesthetic dance design, so as to convey the resplendent Chinese civilization to the outside world.

At the opening ceremony of the cultural festival on the evening of November 18, CNODDT’s dancers performed large original dance drama Confucius at Sydney State Theatre. Since Confucius at the opening ceremony of the China cultural festival was reported by newspapers, Australian audiences have given wide attentions and expressed increasing interests to Confucius-related topics along with the rise of the traditional Chinese culture and Confucius. During the performance, dancers wearing gorgeous and classical costumes and performing in fascinating music brought a strong visual shock and incomparable sensual pleasure to audiences.

Only Care About You--Concert to Reappear Teresa Teng's Classic Songs was presented in New Zealand on November 15 and 16 and Sydney, Australia, on November 19. With musical accompaniment provided by CNODDT Symphony Orchestra and dance accompaniment of many professional dancers, Tong Yao, who won the title of “Little Teresa Teng” and is very popular in Southeast Asia sang 20 touching songs, e.g. Alone in the Western Chamber, The Cana, Evening Primrose and Thousands of Words. Besides, CNODDT’s excellent singer Xu Bin, Liu Yuan and Annie Han Dai (special guest) also presented wonderful songs. The 20 selected classic songs represented the sincerity and heartfelt wishes from all of the cast members to foreign fans.
