During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Xiao Erhei, who
was head of the militiamen in Liujiajiao Village, an anti-Japanese base area in
southeastern Shanxi Province, fell in love with Xiao Jin, a local village girl.
Xiao Erhei’s father Er Zhuge and Xiao Qin’s mother San Xiangu, both feudal and
superstitious, managed to prevent them from getting married. The local ruffian
Jin Wang made the situation messier by stirring up troubles. Xiao Erhei and
Xiao Qin aren’t frightened by the slanders and frame-ups from the feudal force.
Instead, they fought back firmly and won at last.
